This woman had people laughing their butts off when she made this blunder on an application for car insurance. Here at insurance4less.org, we know everyone wants to save money, many buying cheap auto insurance online. But when Alyssa sent in her application, it wasn't long before the world knew about her funny mistake.

We all know that insurance applications can border on the insane, unless you apply online from the right website in the comfort of your own home.

Car insurance companies sometimes want to know absolutely everything about you and your driving history. But even more than that! They'll ask you about your personal life and check your credit! Online applications really are the way of the future. But I digress...

Even knowing what insurance applications are like, it's was surprisingly hilarious when this woman turned in her application.

Alyssa Stringfellow, 25, was filling out an application to add herself to her grandmother’s insurance policy because it would help her save some money.

One section of the application asked for a front and profile view photograph.

Of course, we have all made mistakes on these applications because the instructions can be a little confusing sometimes. But this was just too much!

Alyssa got all the information that they wanted and provided front and side photographs of herself to the company.

When she got up the next day, she was shocked to find she had made a big mistake. The insurance company needed something a little different to say the least

The email said: “Hi Alyssa, I am going to need pictures like you took, except it needs to be of your vehicle,” the insurance agent said.

Then she got a text from her grandmother asking, “Alyssa Racheal, did you send him pictures of YOURSELF?! It was supposed to be of your car!”

“Needless to say, I was ridiculously embarrassed and everyone at work had a good laugh at my obvious misinterpretation.”

Alyssa mentioned that she thought the request was a little out of the ordinary, but she went ahead and sent it along anyway.

You can see by the photos, Alyssa sent front and side pictures of herself instead of her car. A profile, too!

"But, you know what they say, you either have book smarts or street smarts, and I definitely do not have the latter!” Apparently, the post has been liked thousands of times. People were having fun sending it to friends who could fall into the same trap.

Alyssa said, “I decided to add myself to Carolyn’s car insurance and the insurance company rang her with the details I needed and their email address."

“This included my driver’s license number, my date of birth, and a picture straight on and a picture taken from each side."

“I emailed the information along with the pictures that night but I woke up to them asking for the same photos but for the car."

“He’d told my grandma on the phone that he and his entire office were in hysterics at my obvious misunderstanding."

“It was such a blonde moment, but it has given so many people a laugh that I don’t care anymore.” Not that we advocate teasing blonde's. They are just as intelligent as the rest of the non-blonde people in the world.

A Happy Ending

Well, it's always nice to hear when someone can save a bundle of money any way they can. Grandma was very generous to help out. If the case goes public and they are able to give people a good laugh over it, then even better! We would all be a little happier with some extra cheer in our day.
